We traveled with our 8-year-old daughter, and she was truly embraced by the entire team. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and personable—they knew our names, checked in on our daily experiences, and made us feel genuinely cared for. Our daughter quickly formed special connections with the staff. Each day, she would head to the dining area and immediately notice who was or wasn’t working—asking things like, “Where’s Annie? Is Tim here today? Where’s Roxy?” She genuinely looked forward to seeing them, getting her hugs, and sharing stories about her day. While I’ve only mentioned a few by name, she actually knew every staff member and made a point to connect with each of them whenever she could; that is because they made a point to connect with her too.
We had a few specific needs during our stay, including trips into Dumaguete, and the staff went above and beyond to assist us. Thanks to their help, we were able to navigate everything easily without feeling like lost tourists. A heartfelt thank you to Nina, Annie, Sam, Cute, Jenny, and Ashley for making that possible.
After just a few days, we felt completely comfortable with the environment and staff. Our daughter was able to walk to the restaurant on her own to grab food or a drink, do homework, and even socialize—staff kept a friendly eye on her and engaged with her (including doing magic tricks!). She also participated in the Bubbles Program, enjoyed multiple pool dives, and earned her first scuba certification through the Try Scuba experience. Junar was absolutely amazing with her—patient, encouraging, and an excellent instructor. Jason also worked with her, and we are so grateful for the guidance and care they both provided. She was the only child at the resort for two weeks, yet she was constantly included, engaged, and made to feel special—even during snorkeling excursions with knowledgeable dive masters.
The spa services were another highlight. Every therapist we encountered was friendly, accommodating, and highly skilled—we truly appreciated the level of care and professionalism.
The diving experience at Atlantis is outstanding. There are numerous dive sites located close to the resort, each offering something unique. We experienced muck diving and night diving for the first time, and the range of certifications available makes this a true all-inclusive dive destination. The dive team was exceptional—especially our dive master Warfi and boat captain Scarpi. Warfi was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and had an impressive ability to spot marine life, while also taking the time to educate us before and after each dive. We also dove with Jason and Cio, who were both fantastic. One standout moment was seeing one of the resort owners on-site, actively working and diving alongside guests. It’s rare to see that level of involvement, and it speaks volumes about the culture at Atlantis—thank you, Andy, for your presence and leadership.
While the upfront cost of our stay was higher than some of our previous two-week trips, the value far exceeded expectations. Atlantis truly is an all-in-one resort—everything we needed was included, eliminating the need for additional off-site expenses. During our stay, I completed 19 dives, my husband completed 25, and our daughter completed five pool dives and earned her certification. Beyond diving, we enjoyed delicious meals, snorkeling, spa treatments, trips into town, and meaningful connections with both staff and other guests. By the end of our two weeks, we felt like we had gained a second family. The only thing we would have done differently is request a room with a sitting porch. Since we stayed for two weeks—longer than most guests—it would have been nice to have that additional space to relax. Our room was one of the few without a porch, so it’s something we would definitely prioritize for our next visit.
We left feeling deeply impacted by the kindness and professionalism of everyone we encountered—from transfer drivers to maintenance, security, housekeeping, dive staff, and dining teams. A special thank you to Nina, Albert, Junar, Warfi, Annie, and King for making our stay so memorable.
We absolutely plan to return—our daughter is already counting down the months until she can come back and continue her diving journey with Junar!
The resort staff also made us feel like we were the most important people there. The chefs prepared different menu items every day. Breakfast was a set menu, but requests were honored. I preferred my standard 2 eggs on toast and while that was not exactly on the menu, no problem! Lunches and dinners offered 3 mains and a vegetarian and vegan option as well as a starter and dessert. During the 10 days we were there, never a repeat.
On the days we went to Apo Island and on the whale shark excursion, a chef came along and grilled lunch. Again, at least 3 main options as well as salads and dessert.
The diving was great. It was a mix of "muck" diving for the really unusual and strange creatures and reef diving for the colorful reefs and fishes. Dives were about an hour each and the sites were close to the resort. We dove mostly from the small boats, except for the Apo Island days.

The dives in general were spectacular with many nudibranchs, frog fish, pipefishes of wide variety and behaviors (including mating nudies and nudies with eggs). The dives are a mix of sand / muck and either small coral heads or artificial reef structures. This was a near ideal mix for those of us photographers with our heads down by the bottom and our other divers still getting a good overview and spotting the huge turtles or blue ribbon eels. This is definitely a place to have your gopro as well as the camera for macro shots on each dive. We also did the “black water” and Mandarin fish dives with great success. For out last day prior to flying we went to Oslob for snorkeling with the whale sharks which was great fun, plus we had a private area for our lunch and changing facilities after.
The food was excellent with many choices for each meal. Lunch and dinner generally had beef pork chicken or fish (typ. 3 of the 4) as well as vegetarian offerings. As a couple of us are on GLP-1s, the requests for smaller or half portions worked out well. Snacks between dives were cookies or cakes (banana is great) which we did need after some of the higher current dives.
The staff overall was great everyone knows your name (including gardeners). We did have the luxury of the resort being not very full the first few days, but it did get up to 40+ for the 2nd half of our stay and the service was still impeccable. We all signed up for massages after a recommendation from a friend and some ended up with multiple over the week.
The weather was windy a couple of days and the waves came up which made for a bit of challenge getting off the boats. One day the swells were 4-5 feet and we were on one of the big outriggers. The staff set up a “bucket brigade” for humans and swept us safely in (very impressive). As we left, the seas turned flat
We definitely recommend the resort!
The hotel feels like a beautiful garden resort. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the restaurant, housekeeping, and the diving center team.
Although the official check-out time was 11 a.m., they kindly allowed me to extend it until 6 p.m. because my flight was in the evening, which I really appreciated.
The diving instructors and boat crew were very professional and made the dives smooth and enjoyable.
Note: The water temperature in the Philippines is around 29°C, slightly cooler than Indonesia and Thailand, so a thicker wetsuit may be more comfortable.
